I had the mistaken impression that blogs and the Internet would show that we value and learn from the discourse. So often, comments become personal and polarized.

Bruce:

I am a long-time IBJ subscriber of at least 15 years. I read your column when it is in the IBJ and Bill Benner's column every week. I do not always agree with your point of view, but most of the time you at least have an arguably legitimate point of view.

This week I was very disappointed in the liberal, cliche-ridden article you presented, including the obligatory shot at Rush Limbaugh. I expect more from you. I am of the Rush "ilk". I do not hope President Obama fails because I want to be proven right, but because I want him to "fail" in the implementation of policies that I believe are, in the long-term, detrimental to the country. The stimulus, cap and trade and single payer health insurance are in my opinion wrong and poorly thought out. Also, the closing of Gitmo, elimination of secret union ballots, the handling of the auto industry crisis and the constant apology for the U. S. is just plain pandering to special liberal interests.

Instead of writing the fluffy stuff you just had in the IBJ, why don't you do real research? Please, write an article on the scientific principles behind man-made global warming. I have done a lot of research and the only thing I see so far is "glaciers are melting, carbon dioxide levels are rising - Global warming must be caused by carbon dioxide." Proper research might even change my mind.
